Who are we?
La Mac is an online retailer specialising in Jewellery, Bags & Accessories.
La Mac is run by little old me from my home in Carlisle, Cumbria (UK) where I live with my husband, two lovely children and our pet pooch.
I have always been interested in Jewellery and Handbags - what woman isn't - so started my first ever Saturday job working for a very well-known accessories chain back when I was just 16. I continued on my weekend work by moving to another well-known high street chain selling women's fashion and accessories before starting my first full-time job in business administration when I was 17. I continued on to become the Administration Manager of an I.T. company before settling down to have a family.
How did we begin?
After having my first child, I decided not to return to work due to many reasons but instead decided to put together my knowledge from my GNVQ in business studies along with my many years of experience in my part and full-time jobs and La Mac was created!
What happens behind the scenes?
I like to make sure my customers are at the heart of everything I do and I always react quickly to the latest trends to make sure we have something for everyone's personal style. If a customer requests a particular style or colour, I will always go out of my way to get it for them.
We now have over 10 suppliers worldwide and I personally scour around them to keep our stock and styles up-to-date. We update our stock often and I get a buzz out of buying new items. We love to keep our website and social media exciting by having something new for customers to browse.
To allow people to come along and meet us and view our items in person, we attend as many local events as possible such as charity events and local fayres. We also offer "Pop-Up Shops @ Home" where we bring all our lovely items to you for a fab girls night in.
Keeping it interesting and Making it better
I always wanted to make sure people found shopping with La Mac fun so I set up online events which are hosted through our Facebook page such as Auction Nights and Deal or No Deal. We're passionate about what we do and we want to make sure we and, most importantly you, have fun doing it. Our Deal or No Deal idea was also featured on the ASC Finance for Business website in November 2013!
In October 2015, we set up a new payment option with WorldPay allowing us to accept more credit & debit cards securely through our website.
In May 2016, we created a VIP Members Group for our Facebook customers where you can also benefit from special VIP member offers and special events.
In January 2017 we were accepted as a WishStrings reseller so we could add to our range of items.
In September 2017 we introuduced our new 'Online Exclusive' range allowing us to offer hundreds more items and designs shipped directly to you from our supplier.
In October 2017 we joined the Blue Light Card website, the discount service for the Emergency Services & NHS.
In November 2017, we became an FM World Independent Business Partner. This means we can bring you a whole other range of goods such as Fragrances, Make-Up, Body Care, Home Items, Coffee, Nutricode Food Supplements and even Chocolates!
In April 2018 we joined the Defence Discount Service website, the official MOD discount service.
I like to keep in touch with our customers personally so I always make time each day to sit down with a brew and respond to all emails, messages, tweets etc, that we receive as I believe keeping in touch with our customers and building friendships is also important as lets face it, I would not be where I am now without you all.

I hope we continue to grow and build up our presence and friends over the next few years. We have many more new ideas lined up behind the scenes so it's very exciting.
We were very lucky to be a finalist for Retailer of the Year in the May Fifteen awards in 2013 so we hope to keep spreading the word about La Mac and working towards other awards.
So that's it. That's all about me and La Mac. Thank you all so much for your support over the past few years, it means the world. Enjoy!
